At the Specialty Coffee Expo in Chicago, Dionatan Almeida of Brazil won the 2024 World Cup Tasters Championship, flawlessly identifying all eight coffee cups in a swift 2:19 minutes. German contestant Aurore Ceretta was close behind, earning second place with an identical score but a slightly longer time of 2:29 minutes. The event showcased top-notch coffee tasting skills and also crowned Austria's Martin Wölfl as the World Brewers Cup Champion. Wölfl impressed judges with his innovative brewing routine using a geisha coffee from Panama and various specialty brewing tools, highlighting the flavour notes of honeydew, rosehip, cherry, and pineapple in his presentation.
