Caffeine Alert - More Than Just Coffee & Tea

Caffeine is not only present in coffee and tea but also in various other consumables like soft drinks, chocolate, and certain medications. Around 90% of American adults consume caffeine daily, often without realizing the total amount ingested. Some energy drinks include additives with caffeine, and it is also present in less recognizable forms like guarana or kola nut. The FDA warns against consuming caffeine in powdered or liquid concentrate form due to potential health risks. While most adults can handle up to 400mg of caffeine daily, children, adolescents, and certain other groups should limit intake. To reduce caffeine consumption, one should gradually decrease intake, check product labels, and consider switching to decaffeinated options.
