Chobani has announced plans to extend employee benefits following its acquisition of the coffee roaster La Colombe. Employees at Chobani, now totaling 2,700, expressed their desire for free coffee benefits similar to their existing free yogurt perks. The company is looking to reciprocate by offering free yogurt to La Colombe's staff as well. Post-merger adjustments have led to leadership changes and a few departures within La Colombe's 900-person team. However, to bolster its coffee arm, La Colombe is also hiring for at least 40 new positions, primarily in Philadelphia. Despite these shifts, the La Colombe brand will continue to operate independently, preserving its unique identity and connection to Philadelphia. The merger has also sparked enhancements in employee wages and benefits, aligning them with Chobani’s standards, and introducing initiatives like equity plans for La Colombe's team.
