Clay Revolution - GaeaStar's Eco-Friendly Coffee Cups Hit the US

GaeaStar, a startup in Germany and San Francisco, has introduced an innovative approach to single-use coffee cups by creating them from clay. These terracotta cups, inspired by ancient Indian kuhlars, are 3D printable and made from three simple, locally sourced materials: clay, salt, and water. As part of a pilot program, select Verve Coffee Roasters cafes in California are now offering drinks in these environmentally friendly cups. Customers can enjoy their coffee in a GaeaStar cup for an additional $2.00 and either dispose of the cup or return it for a discount on subsequent purchases. This initiative not only enhances the coffee experience but also significantly reduces the environmental impact of disposable cups. The cups can be thrown away guilt-free as they easily decompose back into the earth.
