Fuglen Coffee Spreads Wings to Indonesia

Norwegian specialty coffee roaster Fuglen Coffee is set to open a new location in Jakarta, Indonesia, within the Ashta District 8 shopping centre. Though the opening date has not yet been announced, the brand is expected to enhance the mall's premium lifestyle offerings, joining both local and international coffee shops. Fuglen Coffee, which means "bird" in Norwegian, began in 1963 and expanded internationally to Tokyo in 2012. With its own coffee roaster established in Japan in 2014, Fuglen has grown its wholesale business across Europe, North America, and Asia. The brand operates two outlets in Norway and six in Japan. Indonesia's branded coffee shop market is growing rapidly, with a 10% increase last year and a projection to reach nearly 9,500 outlets by 2028.
