Jersey City Joins NYC in Nespresso Capsule Recycling Program

Jersey City, New Jersey, has expanded its curbside recycling services to include Nespresso coffee capsules, mirroring a similar program in New York City. Starting today, residents in low-rise buildings can recycle their used aluminum capsules right at their curbside. This service extension aims to make recycling more convenient and accessible, contributing to Nespresso's global goal to recover at least 50% of its capsules by 2025. The initiative is part of Nespresso’s broader commitment to sustainability, which includes using recycled materials in their capsules and working with municipalities to enhance recycling capabilities. This program has already seen the recovery of approximately 350 tons of capsules since its inception in NYC in 2019, and now aims to replicate this success in Jersey City.
