Mary Tuomi never saw herself running a coffee shop until her husband and a higher power pushed her to open Loco Espress Coffee House and Boutique in Brainerd. With her children grown, the business even brought her daughter Ava back from Arizona to help run the shop. Loco Espress stands out with its unique drink flights, offering cold brew, lattes, steamers, and more, inspired by her husband's brewery. The coffee house employs 18 staff members and fosters a family-like atmosphere where employees support one another, allowing Mary and Ava to take mother-daughter trips. Beyond just serving coffee, Loco Espress has become a community hub where locals gather for meetings, Bible studies, and homeschooling sessions, making it a bustling yet welcoming space from morning until evening. Mary and Ava cherish the busy days and the slower moments, viewing their venture as a true blessing.
