Nespresso's $40M Boost for DRC Coffee

Nespresso has committed to investing $20 million in the Democratic Republic of Congo's (DRC) coffee sector by 2026, aiming to support local farmers and revive the region's high-quality coffee production. This initiative is part of the Nespresso Reviving Origins program, which seeks to restore coffee agriculture in regions affected by adverse conditions like political and economic instability. The company has also set a goal to raise an additional $20 million to further aid coffee-growing communities in Kivu. Nespresso's investment will encompass coffee purchases, price premiums, and technical assistance, bolstering community resilience, healthcare, and clean water access. The AAA Sustainable Quality™ Program underpins these efforts, focusing on implementing regenerative practices and gender equality training, while also using digital platforms to verify and trace coffee origins, ensuring fair payment to farmers.
