New Jersey Jolted - Coffee Shop Quake Chaos

Customers at Boonton Coffee Co. in New Jersey were rattled by a 4.8 magnitude earthquake, causing a mix of reactions. Some patrons hurriedly left the premises, while others remained unfazed. The assistant manager initially mistook the tremor for an explosion, given the loud rumbling. The quake's epicenter was near Whitehouse Station in Hunterdon County but was felt across multiple East Coast states. Despite the scare, everybody returned to the coffee shop after the shaking stopped, and one employee even continued to take orders amid the tremor. Governor Phil Murphy activated the State Emergency Operations Center and urged residents to use 911 only for real emergencies. The earthquake's impact was significant enough to potentially be felt by over 42 million people.
