Starbucks Shakes Up Leadership with New Global Roles

Starbucks is restructuring its leadership by introducing new CEO positions for North America and International operations, aiming to enhance global scale impact. Effective April 1, 2024, Michael Conway will transition from President, International and Channel Development, to become the North America CEO. Concurrently, Brady Brewer, the current Chief Marketing Officer, will take on the Starbucks International CEO role. This change comes as Starbucks focuses on geographic clarity and functional capabilities to drive productivity and growth. With over 38,650 stores worldwide and plans to increase this number to 55,000 by 2030, Starbucks is investing in its structure to support ambitious expansion goals. The reshuffle also includes the creation of a Chief Merchant and Product Officer position, to be filled by Lyne Castonguay, emphasizing global product strategy. This follows Starbucks' record $36 billion revenue in the last fiscal year, despite a recent drop in international sales.
