Store-bought coffee drinks are a popular choice for many, but they often come with a hefty dose of added sugar. According to the American Heart Association, women should consume no more than 25 grams and men no more than 36 grams of added sugar daily. However, several ready-to-drink coffee beverages far exceed these limits, posing risks such as diabetes, obesity, and heart disease. For example, Califia Farms' Mocha With Almondmilk contains 16 grams of sugar, while Barissimo's Mocha Iced Coffee packs 22 grams per serving. Black Rifle Coffee’s Espresso With Cream, Starbucks Tripleshot Caramel Espresso, and International Delight’s Caramel Macchiato Iced Coffee all contain around 23-29 grams of sugar each. The most sugar-laden options are Dunkin's Original Iced Coffee and Community Coffee’s Vanilla Waffle Cone Iced Latte, with 39-40 grams of sugar, followed by Hostess Twinkies Iced Latte at 46 grams. Topping the list is Starbucks Frappuccino Coffee Drink, with a staggering 47 grams of sugar. For a healthier alternative, consider unsweetened black coffee or low-sugar homemade options.
