Haven Coffee Roasters in Winter Haven, Florida, has recently won the title of the world's best coffee roaster at the Golden Bean World Series in Australia, the largest coffee roasting competition globally. Co-owners Jon and Lynsey Lane take pride in this achievement for their small town. The competition judges espresso, milk-based, and filter coffee categories, and according to Jon, creating the best-tasting coffee involves a meticulous process of trial and error. Haven Coffee Roasters, which opened three years ago after Jon was laid off during the pandemic, is now a local gem, providing wholesale beans to cafes in Polk County. Their winning "Ry-Jo Blend" is available in-store and online, and the Lanes are enthusiastic about elevating Florida's reputation for specialty coffee.
