Qamaria Yemeni Coffee Co. is set to open its first Northern California cafe at 13405 Folsom Blvd., Suite 950, Folsom, replacing The Waffle Experience. This marks the Sacramento region's inaugural Yemeni coffee shop. Yemen's coffee heritage, dating back to the 15th century, is slowly gaining traction in the U.S., celebrated for its rich, earthy, and chocolate-like notes. The cafe will offer to-go options and in-house service with traditional Oriental-patterned cups, alongside treats like pistachio milk cake and honeycomb cake. Founders Munif Maweri and Hatem Al-Eidaroos spent eight years perfecting their bean sourcing from Yemen. The Michigan-based roastery now boasts 12 cafes nationwide. Franchisee Najla Althaibani, along with her daughter Fayruz Ali and niece Amal Abdulla, plans further expansions in the Sacramento area by 2026. The Waffle Experience, now closed in Folsom, still operates in North Natomas.
